莫訝家居窄
無嫌活計貧
只緣無長物
始得作閒人
青竹單牀簟
烏紗獨幅巾
其餘皆稱是
亦足奉吾身

Do not be troubled because my house is narrow;
Do not be bothered at my poverty.
It's only because I have nothing in superfluity
That I can be a man of leisure.
For my solitary sleeping-mat I have only green bamboo,
For my only headdress, this black cotton cloth.
All my other appointments are like these—
Sufficient to uphold my identity.
